The Crystal Caravan was created in hopes that one day we would be able to give back. We feel that too many companies simply take take take. We feel a strong sense of urgency when it comes to protecting our fragile environment for future generations, that's why we have chosen to donate 1% of all gross sales back to the environment. Below, you will find a brief description of our featured charities and links with more information and details on how you can further help their cause.

The Mission of The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy's mission is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
Our Approach
We have developed a strategic, science-based planning process, called Conservation by Design, which helps us identify the highest-priority places—landscapes and seascapes that, if conserved, promise to ensure biodiversity over the long term.
In other words, Conservation by Design allows us to achieve meaningful, lasting conservation results.
Worldwide, there will be thousands of these precious places. Taken together, they form something extraordinary: a vision of conservation success and a roadmap for getting there—the Conservation Blueprint. Simply put, by protecting and managing these Last Great Places over the long term, we can secure the future of the natural world.
The Nature Conservancy's Conservation Initiatives
The Nature Conservancy has five priority conservation initiatives to address the principal threats to conservation at the sites where we work, focusing on fire, climate change, freshwater, marine, invasive species and forests.
Our Methods, Tools and Techniques
How can The Nature Conservancy protect all of these places?
We can't buy them all, and we certainly can't protect them single-handedly. But by joining together with communities, businesses, governments, partner organizations, indigenous people and communities, and people like you, we can preserve our lands and waters for future generations to use and enjoy.

Our Methods
We constantly strive to utilize the resources available to us to have the greatest possible positive impact, to close the gap between what's known and what's practiced. To do that ...
...we work to reach and engage millions of people.
Through mass-media communications, by providing low-cost trees for planting, and by producing high-quality, easy-to-use educational materials, we work to make tree planting and care something in which nearly everyone can be involved. We also create mechanisms through which the average individual can directly support positive tree conservation and education projects. It is our constant goal to expand a person's desire to plant a tree into a lifelong enthusiasm for tree planting and care, and for positive involvement in conservation issues relating to trees.
...we positively influence organizations and institutions, which in turn have a big impact. Through conferences and seminars, positive recognition programs, conservation models, and how-to materials, we educate and motivate large and high-impact organizations to plant and care for trees, and to support related environmental stewardship activities.
...whenever possible, we work through existing structures to achieve our objectives. Networks abound of organizations and individuals who care about trees. Whenever we can find a way, we create programs and educational tools which can be effectively utilized by existing infrastructures.
We work to create high-impact activities, which become financially sustainable. Whenever appropriate, it is our objective to use seed money from grants or membership dues to build quality programs that further our mission and become financially self-supporting.
Our Values
The people of The National Arbor Day Foundation...
...are mission focused. We understand and are committed to the Foundation's mission and put the accomplishment of our mission above personal status. We are committed to providing the best possible service - -to our members and to other individuals and organizations who can further our mission.
...work hard and effectively. We are willing to pitch in and go the extra mile. We are self-starters, are honest, and are able to work in the environment required for the job.
...expect change and enjoy learning. We pursue continuous improvement in our programs, products, and procedures. We are flexible and open to new ideas. We accept and encourage change, and constantly look for ways to improve our work and increase the impact and cost-effectiveness of our programs.
...are excellent team players. We are positive, proactive problem solvers. Our approach to our work is solution-oriented. We take the initiative in reaching out to work constructively with others who can help solve problems and capitalize on opportunities.
...are positive and friendly with co-workers, members, and the public. We treat everyone with courtesy and respect. We are good listeners, accept and appreciate the differences between people, maintain confidences, and work harmoniously with others. We communicate our enthusiasm for our mission.

Mission
Wildlife Trust empowers local conservation scientists worldwide to protect nature and safeguard ecosystem and human health.
Wildlife Trust was founded in 1971, and until 2000 known as Wildlife Preservation Trust International. Wildlife Trust works in the United States and worldwide to save threatened species from extinction, protect habitat, and link nature protection with health through collaborative projects with local scientists. We also communicate our results to educators, health professionals, policy experts, and civic leaders. The Wildlife Trust Team specializes in saving biodiversity in human-dominated landscapes and seascapes - "bioscapes" - where ecological health is most at risk because of habitat loss, pollution, and other environmental changes caused by humans.
Vision
We believe the conservation of biodiversity has both intrinsic and practical values. We believe there are aesthetic, cultural, ethical and spiritual reasons to conserve species. We believe biodiversity is essential to the health of ecosystems, people, and all species. We believe that well designed research is the necessary precondition for effective strategies to protect biodiversity and ecological health. We believe species conservation efforts and single-species research can leverage the conservation of many other life forms. We believe conservation projects are enhanced by multidisciplinary and inclusive approaches. We believe in well-managed systems of protected areas and the preservation of sufficient biodiversity “between the parks.”
We believe in investing in local scientists, the conservationists in the best position to effect change for preserving biodiversity. We believe Wildlife Trust's ability to be responsive and flexible derives from its independence, programmatic focus on innovation and local conservation practitioners, and lean structure. We are determined to have a major impact on conservation through the creation of model projects both in the U.S. and around the world. We understand the wisdom of leveraging our activities through joint ventures and collaboration. We believe science-based knowledge, an educated public, and natural resource management skill gained through professional training are critical components for nature protection, ecosystem health, and public health.
