Color Properties
Pink Flower Pink is the combination of both red and white, the user is able to see his or her potential and move in the path to achieve that goal.  It is also a color for relaxation.  The most beneficial pinks are the darker hues of bubble gum pink to magenta.  These darker shades have been used to promote peaceful surroundings in institutions where violence or confusion may erupt.  Use pinks to calm nervous tension and to tone down the dynamics of red in a home or work environment.  Pink can also be used in conjunction with Turquoise (see below) to represent both yin and yang energies that lead towards completion and fulfillment. Add a touch of pink with tumbled stones like Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, Rhodochrosite, Pink Agate & Tourmaline.  Incorporate pink in stale office environments with desktop ornaments or flowers.  Pink bedrooms will make for calm children.
Girl Smelling Red flower Red is the color with the longest wavelength and creates the most dynamic emotions in all of us.  It is a color of passion, fire, heat, arrogance and power.  For centuries, many cultures have seen this color as the wilder side of the rainbow, giving birth to such connotations as the "red light district" & "scarlet women".   Though these terms are still commonly used in today's society, red is no longer carried with such harsh feelings.  Today it is seen more as a source of dynamic, radiating energy.  It is associated with health and vibrancy for those who use this color.  Add reds to your life when you feel a lack of energy, lack of self-esteem, or when you have become impractical in your life. Add a touch of red with tumbled stones like Red Tiger Eye, Red Jasper & Fire Agate.  Burn candles in your home or perhaps even wear a red scarf or tie to a business meeting to give the impression of courage and power.  Red is associated with the base chakra or muladhara.
Orange wall Orange vibrates to a slightly less intense vibration.  It possesses many of the attributes that red does, like warmth and vitality, but is less aggressive in nature.  Though studies show orange to be one of the most unpopular colors, it is actually a great way to block stagnation and add playfulness to your life.  It increases ones creativity and encourages us to think outside of our normal realms into a world of new ideas.  Use orange when you feel a lack of energy and creativity.  Use it to stimulate new ideas into being and ease the body of stressful situations.  Orange may also be used to stimulate circulation and blood flow in the body.  Add a touch of orange with tumbled stones like Carnelian, Orange Calcite or  Apricot Agate.  Try adding a vase of orange flowers to your room or even dare to paint a wall!  Orange is associated with the sacral chakra or svadistana.
Yellow caution light Yellow stimulates the mind and clears thoughts to allow for better communication flow.  It enhances the intellect and allows us to concentrate and study by helping with poor memory.  It is strongly linked to the digestive system and increases proper absorption of minerals into the body.  Yellow can also be used throughout winter to stimulate the bodies natural immune system.  Avoid using yellows with hints of green, as they may create uneasiness and even nausea.  Use pure yellow when having difficulties with your digestive system or allergies.  Use yellow also to help with studies and memory loss.  Add a touch of yellow with tumbled stones like Citrine, Beryl & Tourmaline.  Try adding sunflowers to a vase (fake flowers will have the same effect).  Replace sugar in your diet with honey. Yellow is associated with the solar plexus chakra or manipura.
Peaceful Waterfall Green connects us to the earth and the plant and mineral kingdom.  Our eyes have the greatest sensitivity to the range of frequencies in the color green.   This is perhaps because of the earliest inhabitants on earth, sensing the importance of this color in regards to their survival on this planet.  Most humans began as forest dwellers.  Green is the color of growth and expansion of both mind and spirit.  The importance of this color in our lives can best be witnessed in an office environment where working conditions are often crowded and stark or institutional.  Use green when you feel confined  and need to break free of rigidity.  Green creates a peaceful feeling and should also be used to relieve stress and tension in ones life, as it re-connects us with nature and the plant kingdom. Add a touch of green with tumbled stones like Aventurine, Chyrosprase &  Tourmaline.  Also keep at least one plant in your office space and encourage others to bring in plants to the office where allowable.  This will create a healthier environment for all by adding a slight boost of oxygen.  Green is associated with the heart chakra or anahata.
Desk Toy with teal background  Turquoise was named by the Turks who often used the blend of green and blue in their mosaics and buildings.  It is an ancient and powerful color that has been used by centuries and by all cultures throughout the world.  This is most apparent in the Native American communities of the Americas where turquoise stone in used extensively in jewelry and talismans.  Use turquoise when you wish to express your individuality and creativity.  Use it to reduce toxins in the body, add new life to old projects and break free from restraints that have been holding you back. Add a touch of turquoise with Tumbled Stones like Chysocholla, Turquoise & Labradorite.  For the look of individuality, add a turquoise jewelry to a business suit.  Turquoise and light blue are associated with the throat chakra or vishuddha.
Dolphin in Ocean Indigo was originally derived by grinding the stones lapis lazuli and azurite and was amongst the most expensive colors to produce in ancient times.  Indigo is quiet and calming like the night sky.  It brings us inward and allows for a more deep understanding of our inner being.  It has a depth which allows us to reach higher states of awareness.  It allows us to channel the thoughts which best lead to actualization without being confused or side tracked by unimportant thoughts that would otherwise clutter the pathway.  Use indigo when you feel a desire for solitude.  Add a touch of indigo with tumbled stones like Lapis Lazuli, Azurite, Dumortierite & Sodalite.  Around the home try adding deep blue flowers, a bowl of blueberries on a table or with artwork containing scenes of the sky at dusk. Indigo is associated with the brow charka or ajna.
Purple Flower Violet is the combination of both blue and red and can be very useful in the areas of healing.  The blue energies allow the healer to devote their energy and the red vibration allows for the flow of that energy into the one who is being healed.  Throughout history violet has been linked with royalty and wealth as well as fantasy and higher realms of existence.  It stimulates the mind and the state of imagination and creativity.  The use of violet can help one to turn daydreams into reality by enhancing this flow.  Use violet to activate the crown chakra when feeling uninspired or depressed.  Use violet when working with other realms and rebalancing the healing energies in general. Add a touch of violet with tumbled stones like Amethyst, Fluorite, Charoite & Sugilite.  Enhance the home with vases of lavender and lilac.  Or even add a touch of mystery and creativity with a purple scarf or necktie. Violet is associated with the crown chakra or sahasara.
Brown cracked dirt Brown is created by mixing the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue.  Thus, it is a neutral color and a color of wholesomeness, stability, and dependability.  The stabilizing effect of brown makes it the ideal color for a study or office in which dynamic ideas must be perfected with painstaking detail before they are put into action.  Use brown to help finish projects, create warmth and a feeling of connectedness to nature and the home and to promote idealism and practicality. Add a touch of brown with tumbled stones like Petrified Wood, Smoky Quartz & Picture Jasper.  Wood flooring in homes will add a solid foundation for ideas.  Use wood decorations to offset blues and grey in the home.
White Snowy Scene White has the ability to clear away mental clutter.  It can be used as a mirror of the emotions that lie deep inside of our innermost being.  Using white to meditate and visualize these feelings can be very beneficial to the user and allow for a detoxification of the spirit.  It has ties to the heavens above and acts as a pathway to heaven and all that is inherently good.  Use white when feeling overwhelmed with chores, activities and general restlessness.  Add white to environments where bright colors overwhelm the space.  Use white to reach a state of higher consciousness when meditating. Add a touch of white with tumbled stones like Howlite, Milky Quartz, Clear Quartz & Moonstone.  Use white curtains or carpets in the home for a sense of peace and mystical connection.  Increase light that flows into every room.
White Sands Grey is the result of not only black and white mixed together, but any complementary colors will produce a grey hue.  Though grey is the color of neutrality, coldness and lack of imagination, it does have certain benefits when used with other colors.  Grey clothing for example, is often used in the business world because it emphasizes neutrality, coolness and emotional stability.  For this reason, grey can be a good color in moderation for advancement of opportunity and for toning down overuse of red's and other powerful, ego-enhancing colors that might conflict in societal situations. Add a touch of grey sparingly with tumbled stones like Hematite & Onyx.  Use grey in the home in moderation with stone arrangements and the use of metal.  To reduce negative effects, use a polished metal with swirling designs to enhance the otherwise flat energy.
Stained Glass Window Black is the absorption of all colors of the spectrum.  For centuries it has been seen as a fearful state in which one can be lurking in the dark or a place of the forbidden to dwell.  However, it has also been notably seen as a color of mystery and strength.  It makes a bold statement when one is seen dressed in all black.  Such a presence invokes feelings of intrigue and question, "what secrets lie within"?  Use black to send negativity back to the source from which it came.  Use black when you are feeling as though your usual generosity has been taken advantage of, to show that you are again in control of the situation.  Add a touch of black with tumbled stones like Onyx, Black Tourmaline & Obsidian.  Use black sparingly in the home and office only as accent to give a sense of control and cohesion within the environment.
